You can see how much Bolesławiec has changed since 1991 in a video that Andrzej Jaehnel posted on YouTube. The footage shows a car driving along some of Bolesławiec’s streets in 1991.
At that time, the buildings were gray and gloomy. There were far fewer cars than there are today. Traffic was light, and pedestrians made up the majority of road users. As for cars, Żuki, Fiats and Polonaises ruled the roads. Robur trucks could also be seen.
Many buildings and sites from that period no longer exist, including the old Bolko, the gas station on Asnyka Street, the buildings on Łokietka and Zgorzelecka streets, and the dairy on Jeleniogórska Street.
