The work Stabat Mater concerns the sorrow of the Virgin Mary after Christ’s crucifixion. The words were written by Jacopone da Todi in the 13th century. Known for centuries, the Latin sequence Stabat Mater remains a symbol of boundless maternal love eagerly used by artists to this day. Music inspired by the text of Stabat Mater was written by both anonymous creators and acclaimed composers, including Antonio Vivaldi and Joseph Haydn.

At the Marian Basilica in Bolesławiec, a work written by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi will be performed by the Lower Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra in Jelenia Góra under the direction of Marek Wroniszewski. Vocalists: Joanna Nawrot – soprano, Joanna Dobrakowska – mezzo-soprano. The concert will be hosted by Paweł Sztompke.

The project is co-financed from the budget of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship self-government.
