– Officers of the Customs and Tax Service from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław carried out inspections at premises across Lower Silesia. The searched locations were in the counties of Legnica and Złotoryja, as well as in Bolesławiec, Osła and Złotoryja – reports Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, spokesperson for the Lower Silesian KAS. – During the inspection of one of the venues, officers forced entry in order to break through the entrance door.
Illegal gaming machines and cash
She adds: – Procedural experiments conducted on site by the officers confirmed that illegal gambling was being organized at the venues using gaming machines, in violation of the Gambling Act.
The officers found 25 illegal gaming machines and cash amounting to more than PLN 37,000. The gaming machines and money were seized as evidence in the case.
The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Legnica.

Organizing illegal gambling is punishable by a fine, imprisonment for up to 3 years, or both penalties together. If the offense is made a permanent source of income, the court may impose a sentence of up to 4 years and 6 months in prison.
Both the organizer of illegal games and the owner of the premises where illegal gambling is organized face a fine of PLN 100,000 for each illegal gaming machine.
