They have been making music for 8 years. Recently, they decided to launch a joint YouTube channel: Off The Line. We are talking about three rappers from Bolesławiec: Qba, Essey and Rosiu. At the end of January this year, their first joint music video appeared on the channel. (Recorded—as it is worth emphasizing—partly at our skatepark.)
The people of Bolesławiec already have concerts under their belt. In 2023, they performed at the Jelenia Góra Juvenalia, and last weekend at the Hip-Hop & DMC Festival in Bogatynia, this time under the Off The Line name. This year, they will once again be heard together at the Juvenalia in Jelenia Góra.
As Qba explains in a conversation with istotne.pl, at Off The Line concerts they perform both solo and joint tracks. – We do not want to operate strictly as a band – the rapper stresses. – We do not want to depend on one another.
That is why their YouTube channel is to serve as a hub for songs recorded in various configurations: solo tracks, those created by two- or three-person lineups, and those featuring guests. For example, a track by Qba with the istotne.pl readers’ familiar vocalist Iga Tur is expected to appear there soon.
How did the three hip-hop artists from Bolesławiec start working together? – I have known Essey forever; I treat him like a brother. He was the one who got me into this music – Qba says. – Rosiu recorded on his own until 2021, then he decided to create music in a larger lineup as well. And that is how our paths crossed. Now we are friends. If everything goes according to plan, OTL will also become a label.
Why hip-hop? – This music speaks to us the most; it is universal and has no limits – the rapper says. He immediately points out that the song recorded with Iga Tur will be very different from “Tercet”.
