Agnieszka Gergont, spokesperson for Bolesławiec City Hall:
(…) in October 2023, Bolesławiec City Hall handed over the construction site for work related to the construction of a sports complex, together with accompanying infrastructure, at Primary School No. 5 on Dolne Młyny Street. The scope of the task concerns the completion of the second stage of construction of the sports complex. The contractor is BUD – ZIEM from Pszenno.
And she adds:
The trees were cut down by the contractor in connection with the investment being carried out (at the site where the sports field is being built). The decision was issued by the Starost of Bolesławiec and provides for environmental compensation in exchange for the removed trees. Eight poplars, one ash tree and six spruce trees were removed. The environmental compensation provides for planting 15 trees, including 9 deciduous and 6 coniferous trees, at least 100 cm tall.

So much is said about ecology in schools, yet trees have been cut down on the grounds of Primary School No. 5, and concrete will be poured.
And added: – I feel sorry for the children who will exercise on this multifunctional sports field, where there is not even a centimeter of shade.
