After 9:00 a.m., a Reader called us. They pointed out that “the road workers are asleep.” They added that they were currently driving toward Krzyżowa at 20 km/h because “it’s impossible to go faster.”
They added that they had spoken with road workers, who allegedly told them that spreading material over entire roads was not part of their standard practice. They also said that only intersections and bends were being cleared of snow.
We asked the head of the District Roads Authority, Paweł Bednarski, about the matter. The manager told us that all roads were passable and that gritters had already been operating since 3 a.m.
Update: 2024-01-15, 6:00 p.m.
Another reader reports that the road in Rakowice (Bolesławiec gmina) is so slippery that it is impossible to drive, and even difficult to stand.
