German police received information about the tragedy in one of the apartments in Kaarst shortly before 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024. According to officers, the report was made by relatives of the woman who lived in the apartment.
The bodies of a Polish couple were found in the apartment: a 49-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman. (The latter was from Lwówek Śląski).
According to the investigators’ preliminary findings, the woman was fatally wounded with a knife. What happened to the man? The Lwówek-based outlet reported: – Police do not rule out the possibility that he committed suicide by inflicting fatal wounds on himself, or that he died as a result of injuries sustained, for example, during a struggle.

The 35-year-old woman was from Lwówek Śląski. She worked in Germany as a nurse. She spent the holidays with her husband in Poland. They left for work just before New Year’s Eve. During the journey, she wrote on her social media profile:
