The Ceremonial Sports Gala summarizing the sporting competition of the 11th Lubusz Armored Cavalry Division (11LDKPanc) was held at the Military Club in Żagań.

During this year’s competition among the units of the 11th Armored Cavalry Division, the athletes of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment from Bolesławiec won the laurels of victory and the cup for first place. It was the regiment’s first victory in history. Its soldiers won six of the 12 events held as part of the competition and failed to reach the podium only three times.

It is impossible to describe military athletes in a few words. They are characterized by diligence, mental and physical endurance, honesty, ambition and determination, as well as resilience to stress and criticism. They also possess concentration and self-confidence, and above all, the ability to win—but also to come to terms with defeat.

The gala became an opportunity to express gratitude. The athletes were thanked first. For many years, representatives of the military units in the first group have formed the vanguard of military athletes, achieving above-average sporting results and winning many medals and titles.

Congratulations were also offered to the commanders of the military units for creating the conditions and opportunities for soldier-athletes to train and enabling them to participate in sporting competitions. The cup was presented by the Commander of the 11th Armored Cavalry Division to the Commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, Col. Krzysztof Malankiewicz.
