One of our readers decided to share what they saw at the playground in Bonina Park in Bolesławiec. Their attention was drawn to a particular game involving several Ukrainian children.
Reader:
I observed that about 80% of the children playing, of various ages, were Ukrainian children. I was shaken by a game involving four children, approximately 10 years old. The children ran around the playground, and one of the girls had a whistle. Every time she blew it, each of the children playing fell to the ground.
The children fell wherever they happened to be and put their hands behind their heads, over their necks, as if shielding themselves during a bombing. It was terribly sad. What did they come here with?
What do you think—does this game refer to experiences connected with the war?
