Bolesławiec firefighters on the exercises:

The Bolesławiec County Headquarters of the State Fire Service conducted county-level exercises for units of the National Rescue and Firefighting System at the facilities of the Van Werven Poland Sp. z o.o. plant in Osła. The main aim of the exercises was to test the county rescue plan’s provisions concerning cooperation between fire protection units and other services and institutions. Firefighters from the State Fire Service, volunteer fire service and company fire service involved a team from the State Emergency Medical Service of ZOZ Bolesławiec, the Police, representatives of the Legnica Special Economic Zone, and crisis management services from Gmina Gromadka and Bolesławiec County in organizing the simulated operation and its command post.

They add:

The firefighting operations carried out during the exercises involved extinguishing a large-scale fire at an industrial facility producing material from recycled plastic waste. The incident commander, working with the operation’s command staff, practically tested the deployment of the Regional Operational Reserve firefighting company, as well as the ability to assist injured people, stop traffic on adjacent roads, and organize logistical support. In addition, a volunteer fire service unit equipped with a drone was used to support the operation; its task was to determine the scale of the incident, the sources of the fire, and the possibilities for conducting firefighting operations.

On Wednesday, November 8, county-level exercises organized by the Bolesławiec County Headquarters of the State Fire Service took place in the village of Osła.

Firefighters from Nowogrodziec:

The exercise scenario involved a fire at a waste-processing plant in the economic zone. We took part in the exercises with our heavy GCBA Jelcz rescue and firefighting vehicle, together with a cargo-and-pump trailer. Due to the specifications of our equipment, our task was to establish a water supply from a reservoir several hundred metres away.

They conclude:

Many conclusions were drawn from the exercises, which will certainly lead to better cooperation in the future.
