Update 2023-10-31
I LO: – The last farewell will take place on November 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the Municipal Cemetery in Bolesławiec.
Let us recall. On Saturday evening, at the age of 74, Joanna Misiura, a longtime physics teacher at I Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Bolesławiec, died. She would have celebrated her 75th birthday in November. As Cezary Czernatowicz, headmaster of “Jedynka,” emphasized in a conversation with us, J. Misiura was a legend of the school.
The istotne.pl editorial team extends its sincerest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
I Liceum Ogólnokształcące writes:
It is with great sorrow that we announce that Mrs. Joanna Misiura died on October 27. She devoted her entire professional career to I Liceum, teaching physics and astronomy to successive generations, beginning in 1978 and continuing until her retirement in 2014. She was a teacher with tremendous passion, exceptionally devoted to the life of the school and her students. Tirelessly, she promoted both physics and astronomy, introducing innovative project methods and teamwork.
Demanding much of herself, she was able to effectively motivate students who were interested in these subjects, which translated into success in competitions and academic olympiads. She had her own working methods, and her vision of physical phenomena was far removed from textbook theories. She organized workshops and demonstrations, and took young people to various places where theory met practice. She liked to know things. She was interested in the world and in people, and tried to pass that passion on to her students. While teaching physics, she was also a great humanist, interested in literature, theater… and politics.
A teacher and form tutor to many classes, devoted to the school and her work. The “Legend of I Liceum” has passed away.
The I Liceum community extends its deepest sympathy to the Professor’s loved ones.
