On Tuesday, October 5, Dr Krzysztof Tomczak, an experienced obstetrician-gynecologist and longtime employee of the Zespół Opieki Zdrowotnej in Bolesławiec, died after a serious illness. He was 66.
In 1969, he graduated from the Medical Academy in Wrocław. He began his first job in Namysłów. In Opole, he obtained his first-degree specialization in gynecology and obstetrics.
He came to Bolesławiec in 1974. Four years later, he obtained his second-degree specialization in gynecology and obstetrics in Wrocław, and in 1990—in healthcare organization. From 1984 to 1987, he served as deputy director of the ZOZ for medical services.
Among other things, he contributed to launching the District Specialist Outpatient Clinic on Jeleniogórska Street. On his initiative, the Counseling Center for Preventive Treatment and Rehabilitation for people with addictions was established in Bolesławiec.
He worked at the Bolesławiec hospital until his final days. Even during such a serious illness, he remembered his coworkers and remained in constant contact with the staff. He had a great need to work and take action. He was a man who greatly valued and respected nurses, midwives and other hospital employees. He was willing to talk with everyone.
The farewell ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 9, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Municipal Cemetery in Bolesławiec on Śluzowa Street.
