Our reader asked us to publicize the issue. In an SMS to the editorial office, she wrote:
I am a resident of the village of Kraszowice. I am writing on behalf of myself and other people who have the same problem. Since September, we have had no way to get home from work because Auto-Linie stopped operating on our route – Ocice–Bolesławiec–Ocice. People who work until 6:00 p.m. have no way to get home, while young people who finish classes at 4:00 p.m. leave lessons early to catch the last PKS bus at 3:35 p.m. [...]
We are cut off from the world, and nobody cares about this issue. We have been left alone with this problem.
“This route is unprofitable for us,” explains Robert Góra, owner of Auto-Linie. “The passenger transport market is difficult and the costs of running a company are rising. We considered keeping the services on this route, which is very important to residents of our county. However, for financial reasons, we had to withdraw from it.”
As we have established, county residents asked PKS to introduce a new bus service after 6:00 p.m. “We sent a letter proposing that a service from Bolesławiec to Ocice be launched at 7:00 p.m.,” Bolesław Dziedzic, director of passenger transport at PKS Bolesławiec, told the “Istotne Informacje” website and newspaper. “But so far, we have not received a reply.”
It has not yet been decided whether PKS will introduce an additional service to Ocice. “We are analyzing how many passengers will use this connection and whether it will produce economic benefits,” Dziedzic emphasizes. We will return to the matter.
