The Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre and the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec invite not only cycling enthusiasts to the recreational and tourist bicycle rally along the Leona Piątkowski Trail – an outstanding regionalist, local-history expert, promoter of tourism, and pioneer of post-war research into natural monuments and historic sites in the Bolesławiec area.
The event is held under the honorary patronage of Zenon Piątkowski, the trail’s creator’s son, who actively pursues regional tourism, including cycling. The rally will be an excellent opportunity to spend free time actively, as well as to discover interesting places, historic sites, and natural monuments around Bolesławiec.
The rally will take place on September 30, 2023, and will follow the northern section of the yellow Leona Piątkowski Trail running around Bolesławiec. The route, leading through Bolesławiec – Dobra – Krępnica – Dąbrowa Bolesławiecka – Kraśnik Dolny – Kruszyn – Bolesławiec, is approximately 32 km long.
The rally will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Bolesławiec Market Square, near the Tourist Information Point, and will finish at approximately 3:00 p.m. at the “Leśny Potok” Water and Recreation Centre on Jeleniogórska Street with a joint picnic. The picnic will feature skill competitions and quizzes testing knowledge of tourist attractions in the Bolesławiec region, with book prizes available to win.
Rally participants will receive commemorative badges and certificates of participation, as well as surprise gifts.
