From 22 September, on its premiere date, Bolesławiec’s cinema will screen Agnieszka Holland’s important film “The Green Border”. Seven screenings in the 49-seat studio auditorium and one on Thursday in the large auditorium, with around 440 seats, will allow almost 800 viewers in Bolesławiec to see the film hated by the Law and Justice party.

Jarosław Kaczyński, Prime Minister Morawiecki and even the President of Poland discouraged people from attending a screening. The president allowed himself to make an offensive remark about those who would go to see the film: “Only pigs sit in the cinema.” Andrzej Duda took this slogan from the vocabulary of the period of the Nazi occupation of Poland. Before screenings in cinemas at that time, short films—newsreels promoting Nazism—were shown, which is why people who went to the cinema during the occupation were called “pigs”.

The world premiere of “The Green Border” took place at the prestigious 80th Venice International Film Festival. A reliable opinion about the Polish director’s film can be heard in Powiększenie OKO.press.

Let us add that the animal known as a pig is one of the most intelligent animals, matching three-year-old children in ability and often surpassing dogs in this respect. Pigs learn very quickly and are curious about the world. In nature, pigs do not “eat like pigs”; they eat slowly (on farms they compete and therefore eat so greedily). Pigs communicate constantly with one another and have their own language. Newborn piglets learn their mothers’ voices and recognize the names given to them by the sow. Pregnant sows sing to their young while feeding them. Winston Churchill is said to have said:

Dogs look at people. Cats gaze at people. Pigs look us straight in the eye and treat us as equals.
