The incident occurred on June 25 last year. The then-17-year-old resident of Lwówek County went with friends to Świeradów-Zdrój. In one of the local establishments, 23-year-old Kacper joined the group.

As reported by lwowecki.info:

When the teenager said that she had to return home, it was Kacper who offered her a ride. The girl had seen him before, as they lived in nearby towns. (...) She was pleased that she would get home quickly. However, that did not happen.

It adds: – After driving away from the bar, the man began turning down side streets, then entered a forest road, where the drama unfolded.

The attacker tried to rape his acquaintance. To do so, he hit her in the face, stomach and back; he pulled her hair and clothing.

The Lwówek-based outlet reports:

The teenager fought him, trying to free herself. At one point, she broke free, opened the car door and fled half-naked, running along the forest road. In pain and terrified, she ran ahead. As she later told us, she spent several hours in the forest before noticing a holiday cottage and tourists moving around it. She ran up to them and asked for help.

A short time later, she was already home. Her mother notified the police.

It turned out that the officers knew the attacker well. (The attacker had already come into conflict with the law and had been convicted of robbery involving a dangerous weapon.) He was detained and questioned. The prosecutor brought charges against him, and the court – at the investigators’ request – remanded the suspect in custody.

The first verdict in the case was handed down at the end of December last year. The Lwówek court sentenced the young man to 2 years and 10 months in prison. The attacker was also ordered to pay PLN 5,000 in compensation to the victim and was banned from contacting her.

That was not the end of the case. As lwowecki.info emphasizes:

The woman hired a lawyer, who filed an appeal. The prosecution also appealed. The court hearing was scheduled for the end of April this year, but at the last minute the court changed the date, moving it to the second half of May. However, the case was not concluded in a single hearing.

Only on September 8 (...) did the Jelenia Góra District Court announce its verdict. The court had no doubt that the sentence handed down by the court in Lwówek Śląski had been too lenient. It therefore extended the man’s prison term, sentencing him to four years and six months in prison.
