The year of operation of the Dolnośląskie Centrum Sportu #NaPolanie was filled with sporting and cultural events: the 47th Bieg Piastów – Cross-Country Skiing Festival, the Polish Cup in Summer Biathlon, the 11th Summer Bieg Piastów, and the red-and-white May weekend #NaPolanie are just a few of the most important events held at this modern centre.
– Exactly one year ago, we opened the Dolnośląskie Centrum Sportu at Polana Jakuszycka – says Cezary Przybylski. – One of the most modern facilities of its kind in Europe. I am immensely pleased that the completion of such a large investment now makes it possible to undertake further ambitious initiatives. I already believe that the cooperation established with our partners from the Czech Republic will result in numerous sporting successes – added the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship at the Economic Forum held in Karpacz.
During the Forum, a Polish-Czech memorandum dedicated to interregional sports cooperation was signed. The meeting was attended by Martin Půta, Hetman of the Liberec Region; President of the Czech Ski Association David Trávníček; and Maciej Klóska, President of Dolnośląski Park Innowacji i Nauki.
Under the signed memorandum, both Lower Silesia and the Liberec Region undertake, among other things, to carry out modernisation work on the ski jumps in Harrachov and the cross-country skiing trails in Jakuszyce, as well as to support athletes from Poland and the Czech Republic and provide them with the necessary sports infrastructure, including the Dolnośląskie Centrum Sportu at Polana Jakuszycka. In the future, the cooperation established is intended to form the basis for jointly applying to host championship-level events.
