The items came from the German Red Cross based in Bautzen. The furniture comes from a home for asylum seekers that is being closed. It will now serve homeless people and anyone in need.
PCK did not pay a penny for this donation; the Germans also covered the transport costs. Some of the equipment will remain at the homeless shelter. Some will go to people in a difficult financial situation.
Cooperation between the Bolesławiec PCK and the Red Cross in Bautzen has been continuing for a year and a half.
Recently, the heads of both organizations signed a cooperation agreement at the district office. It is to involve youth exchanges, first-aid training and the organization of emergency services operating on both sides of the border.
