On August 29, a ceremonial assembly was held on the brigade parade ground to mark Air Defense Forces Day and the 84th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II.
Unit:
The ceremony began with the color guard company, commanded by Lieutenant Łukasz Gliński, presenting the colors of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade. Next, the ceremony commander, Lieutenant Colonel Radosław Wujda, submitted a report to the acting unit commander, Lieutenant Colonel Janusz Fajger. After the commander greeted the standards, the State Flag was raised on the mast to the sound of the national anthem.
And he adds:
The first part of the assembly consisted of reading out orders and decisions awarding decorations, commendations and material prizes to soldiers of the Air Defense Squadron on the occasion of their holiday.
The next point of the ceremony was the presentation of weapons to soldiers serving in Voluntary Basic Military Service. The servicemen said: – It was one of the most important moments for the recruits beginning their adventure with the military. By receiving a weapon, which for every soldier is a symbol of valor, courage and service to the homeland, they also received the trust of society. The coming weeks will be a difficult time for the volunteers. They will face many challenges, but the knowledge they gain and the sweat poured out during training will prepare them for the most important day in a soldier’s life: taking the oath on the unit’s standard.
The Air Defense Squadron is the basic combat subunit of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade and was established with the formation of the brigade in 1995. The squadron’s main task is to provide air defense cover for the brigade’s subunits. On a daily basis, the subunit takes part in exercises at brigade and national level.
