Magdalena Gazur has been an artist associated with Bolesławiec since 2009. She currently serves as the chief designer at the Manufaktura in Bolesławiec Smoleński & Zwierz Sp. j. Sp. k., with which she began her professional association in 2011. Drawing on local ceramic traditions, she boldly combines them with modern trends. She is the author of the distinctive collections of the Bolesławiec Manufaktura: Kolorlove, Blue Line – Tradition, Modern, Wedding, Water Line, The 1960s, Flower Line – Roses, and Forest Line. M. Gazur also designs in glass. For the “Julia” Crystal Glassworks in Piechowice, she designed the HopOnTop collection, another project completed in cooperation with the glassworks, following the enthusiastically received Polski Stół project, which M. Gazur initiated and co-authored. The artist also works at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, where she teaches graphic presentation techniques and product management (Department of Interdisciplinary Activities in Ceramics and Glass).
The meeting, organized by the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec, will be a unique opportunity to obtain the book and the author’s autograph.
Magdalena Gazur’s publication is a doctoral dissertation written under the supervision of Dr hab. prof. ASP Joanna Teper and defended at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. The work received second prize in the 12th edition of the Bolesławiec Mayor’s Competition for the best master’s or doctoral thesis on the history and contemporary life of the city of Bolesławiec.
