On August 14, 2023, the 16th anniversary of the death of 10BKPanc soldier Lt. Łukasz Kurowski took place.
Armored brigade:
Second Lieutenant Łukasz Kurowski was an officer of the 24th Uhlan Battalion. On August 14, 2007, as a result of injuries sustained during the explosion of a grenade launcher that exploded right in front of his feet, he went on his final watch. He was buried on August 18 in Lusowo near Poznań. He was posthumously promoted to the rank of lieutenant. He was the first Polish soldier to die during the stabilization mission in Afghanistan.
On the anniversary of his death, a delegation from 10BKPanc, together with the commander of the 24th Uhlan Battalion, Maj. Sławomir Sikorski, visited the fallen soldier’s grave and laid flowers.
