In Saturday’s match against Słowianin Wolibórz, BKS began the 2023/2024 season in the new fourth tier, consisting of a single group. The match was played at the stadium on Rajska Street in Bolesławiec. The game took place in oppressive heat. In the 8th minute, the visitors took the lead with a header by Marcin Buryła. In the 20th minute, also with a header, Adrian Niewiadomski made it 2–0.

The first half belonged to the visitors not only in terms of goals scored, but also possession and ball control. Although Bolesławiec also had opportunities to reduce the deficit, the visitors looked better in open play. For BKS, Jacek Bochnia came closest to scoring, but he was unable to beat the visiting goalkeeper.

The game became more even in the second half, and BKS created several promising chances. A situation in Słowianin’s penalty area caused considerable controversy. Filip Komarzyniec fell onto the pitch after a clash with a visiting player. The referee hesitated for a moment but ultimately did not see a foul in the incident. As time went on, both the supporters and the home players became increasingly dissatisfied with the referee.

Towards the end of the match, BKS players received a series of cards. Marcin Kraśnicki had to leave the pitch after receiving two yellow cards and, consequently, a red one. Also late in the match, the referee awarded Słowianin a penalty after judging that one of the BKS players had handled the ball. Arkadiusz Majewski, stepped up to take it, but was unable to beat Tomasz Hajduczek, who guessed the taker’s intention and caught the ball.

The score did not change. BKS lost 0–2 (0–2) to the former champion of the eastern fourth-tier group. After the match had ended, Dawid Kizyma was also shown a red card for two yellow cards, while the referees left the pitch in an unpleasant atmosphere.

After the match, the BKS players thanked the group of fans for their support; throughout the game, the supporters spared no effort in cheering on their team. Although Bolesławiec lost, the players deserve thanks and respect for their determined fight until the very end. All the more so because the opponent was demanding. Perhaps the statement that best describes the situation is that they did not surrender without a fight.
