The work is being carried out under the supervision of the Voivodeship Heritage Conservator. It is worth recalling that at its May session, the Bolesławiec City Council adopted a resolution on granting subsidies for conservation, restoration or construction work at historic monuments entered in the register of historic monuments or included in the municipal register of historic monuments. The Bolesławiec city budget allocated PLN 500,000 for this purpose.

Four applications that met the formal and substantive requirements were selected for subsidies. Two applications were submitted by homeowners’ associations. They concern the renovation of the façades of the tenement houses at 10 Kubika Street (PLN 80,000) and 11 Kubika Street (PLN 170,000).

The third application was submitted by the Parish of Our Lady of the Rosary in Bolesławiec. It covers conservation work on the Gothic church, involving the restoration of epitaph plaques (PLN 50,000).

The fourth application, submitted by the Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Nicholas in Bolesławiec, concerns the conservation of the stone entrance steps on the Market Square side, as part of the continuation of the conservation programme for urgent restoration work at the Bolesławiec Marian Basilica (PLN 200,000). The renovation work will be carried out under the supervision of the Voivodeship Heritage Conservator.

Subsidies from the Bolesławiec city budget to co-finance renovation work on buildings entered in the register of historic monuments have been granted since 2005. In every case, the applications concerned a building of high historical and cultural value. Conservation work on such buildings is invariably intended to restore the former architectural form, artistic value and utility value that have been damaged or altered.
