This year’s artists are: Janina Bany-Kozłowska (Poland), Mariia Dunaiska (Ukraine), Magdalena Kowalewska (Poland), Hanna Miadzvedzeva (Belarus), Natalia Dzidowska (Poland), Andrej Németh (Czech Republic), Łukasz Orfiniak (Poland), Krzysztof Rozpondek (Poland), Irina Toronjadze (Georgia), and Andrzej Wajda (Poland).

The artists and the course of the symposium will be overseen by artistic coordinator Janina Bany-Kozłowska, an artist from Bolesławiec.

The artists are creating during the symposium, which has been organized continuously for nearly 60 years by Gmina Miejska Bolesławiec and the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre in Bolesławiec, with major support from Bolesławiec ceramic manufacturers such as “Ceramika Artystyczna” Spółdzielnia Rękodzieła Artystycznego in Bolesławiec, Zakłady Ceramiczne “BOLESŁAWIEC” Sp. z o.o. in Bolesławiec, and “Manufaktura” in Bolesławiec.

The co-organizer of the symposium is the Culture and Arts Centre in Wrocław – a cultural institution of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship self-government.

On August 1, the artists and the artistic coordinator, thanks to the goodwill of the presidents and owners, toured the ceramic factories, namely: “Ceramika Artystyczna” Spółdzielnia Rękodzieła Artystycznego in Bolesławiec, Zakłady Ceramiczne “BOLESŁAWIEC” Sp. z o.o. in Bolesławiec, and “Manufaktura” in Bolesławiec. They learned about the places where they will create their works over four weeks, as well as the specific nature of each factory’s work.

For all supporters of the Bolesławiec symposium, residents, and art lovers, the artists will traditionally present their work. The participants, divided into three groups:

  • 08.08. – Hanna Miadzvedzeva (Belarus), Mariia Dunaiska (Ukraine), Andrej Németh (Czech Republic);
  • 09.08. – Natalia Dzidowska (Poland), Magdalena Kowalewska (Poland), Łukasz Orfiniak (Poland), Andrzej Wajda (Poland);
  • 10.08. – Krzysztof Rozpondek (Poland), Janina Bany-Kozłowska /artistic coordinator (Poland), Irina Toronjadze (Georgia)

during three days of multimedia lectures, which will be held in the BOK–MCC conference room (1c Piłsudskiego Square) at 7:00 p.m., will introduce audiences to their art. Everyone is warmly invited to the artists’ lectures.
