Jarosław Molenda from Centrum Nieruchomości Molenda & Molenda:

(…) I inform you that gas supplies to the building at Gałczyński Street 48 and 50 have already been restored.

The failure was caused by a water pipe being connected to the gas installation during renovation work in a unit, which resulted in the gas installation in two stairwells and neighboring buildings being flooded with water.

And explains:

In the case of our units, gas was disconnected from 20 apartments. We had to dry the installation, carry out leak tests, and reinstall the meters and reconnect the supply.

We also asked whether the person responsible for all the trouble would face any consequences. The property manager:

The person responsible for the damage was informed in writing that they would bear all costs related to removing the effects of the failure and would also have to expect claims from the owners if the flooding of the installation caused damage to their property.

Let us recall. At the beginning of this week, we received information from a reader:

Could you look into the strange lack of gas on Gałczyński Street in Bolesławiec? Because of a failure, water was flowing instead of gas. And this has already been going on for a week (...). The meters have been removed and nothing is happening.

According to the person who reported it, people are “patiently waiting without hot water or the ability to cook.”

Grzegorz Cendrowski, press spokesperson for Polska Spółka Gazownictwa:

(…) on July 11, in Bolesławiec, at Gałczyński Street, the internal gas installation was flooded due to one of the customers incorrectly connecting a water heater. Water from the installation entered the gas network. As a result, customers living at Gałczyński Street 28b, 36a, 38a, 48 and 50 were left without gas.

And explains:

PSG services immediately began removing the effects of the incident. They removed the water from the gas network and restored gas supplies to the points at Gałczyński Street 28b, 36a and 38a. Due to the detection of leaks in the internal installation, responsibility for which lies with the building owner or manager, the services could not resume gas supplies to the buildings at Gałczyński Street 48 and 50.

And adds:

On July 20, PSG received notification from the property manager that the installation was ready to be filled with gas. However, a leak test of the internal network conducted by PSG employees produced a negative result. The company is ready to immediately restore gas supplies to all residents once the internal installation has been repaired by the building’s administrator or manager.

Beata Ślęzak, president of Spółdzielnia Mieszkaniowa Bolesławianka:

I inform you that no leaks in the internal gas network were found in the buildings managed by the Cooperative, namely Gałczyński Street 36a and 38a.

The resident responsible for the failure is not a resident of the Cooperative’s properties.
