The works presented at the exhibition are three-dimensional compositions made from various ceramic bodies. They arose from the need to seek harmony between the essence of the material and the methods of constructing, coloring and firing it, and thus between the solid and its surface. They express a fascination with the material and the process involved in its treatment. Clay and its properties, its unlimited wealth of textures and its susceptibility to shaping inspired the use of the formal solutions presented here. All the works are more or less synthetic elements with highly veined textures. In principle, they are abstract compositions. At the same time, they result from observing nature and express respect for the logic prevailing within it. In a similar way, they refer to phenomena in the fields of culture and technology.

The core of the collection consists of the artist’s latest works from the Thermophiles series. As with most of the exhibits, their final form is determined by the firing method, which uses not only high temperature ranges but, above all, direct contact between the ceramic body and living fire.

The exhibition will be open from 1 July to 4 August 2023 at the “W sam raz” gallery (during FORUM cinema’s opening hours). The exhibition closing event will take place on 4 August 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the “W sam raz” gallery and will be a great opportunity to meet the artist. You are warmly invited!
