Although these results are still before the resit session, we have once again retained our place on the provincial podium, just as in previous years. The good run of county education has continued uninterrupted since 2018.
This time, 517 students who took the matura exam achieved “Lower Silesian silver”. The matura pass rate in our general secondary schools compared with the province is 94.6%, while in technical secondary schools it is 81.9%, giving us second place in Lower Silesia. It is worth noting that the results of our schools are better than the average results not only in the province, but also in Poland. Our graduates outperformed their peers from the region’s largest cities – Wrocław, Legnica, Jelenia Góra and Wałbrzych.
The best-performing students among the county’s schools were those from I Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Bolesławiec. They passed the matura exam more successfully than their predecessors did last year.
Matura exam pass rates in county schools
- I Liceum Ogólnokształcące – 100%
- II Liceum Ogólnokształcące – 89%
- Zespół Szkół Elektronicznych – 85.2%
- Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących i Zawodowych – 85.2%
- Zespół Szkół Handlowych i Usługowych – 84.22%
- Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych – 76.3%
- Zespół Szkół Budowlanych – 68%.
It is worth noting that the young people who took this year’s matura exam had followed a difficult educational path. The pandemic, remote learning, social anxiety related to the war in Ukraine and instability in the education system meant that students and teachers had to develop new working methods, focus on individual learning and rely on self-discipline.
We already know that not everyone coped well with this different reality, and many young people needed psychological support to redefine themselves in difficult circumstances. In this context, it is encouraging that, as every year, graduates can take the resit session. Currently, 62 people at our schools have the opportunity to improve their matura results as early as August.
It is worth noting that last year, after the resits, the final matura pass rate in Bolesławiec County was 89.4%, while also remembering that the county’s matura pass rate is influenced by students from public schools run by legal entities that are not local government units.
Bolesławiec County: – We warmly congratulate the graduates and wish them success in their future choices! We also extend our thanks to the parents, teachers and school principals.
