MP Szymon Pogoda (born in 1985) has been in the Sejm for almost three years. According to his latest financial disclosure, he has so far accumulated more than PLN 130,000 in his account (as of April 13). Pogoda co-owns an apartment worth PLN 300,000 and has a Nissan Qashqai.
In 2022 alone, the MP earned more than PLN 196,000 in the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. In addition, he received more than PLN 220,000 in 2022 to run his parliamentary office (he used PLN 217,000). Together, MP Pogoda and his office cost taxpayers PLN 412,000 last year.
What did the MP spend the money allocated for his office on? Almost PLN 30,000 went on car travel. More than PLN 9,000 was spent on office supplies. The MP also bought himself an iPhone for PLN 2,800. He also paid the office employees’ salaries. He spent more than PLN 19,000 on correspondence and advertisements.
When the MP began his term, he had PLN 41,400 in savings (now—as we mentioned—PLN 130,000), and earned approximately PLN 7,500 per month (work at AMRiR and a councillor’s allowance). Now, the MP and his office cost Polish taxpayers more than PLN 34,000 per month.
