Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec arrested a man suspected of persistently harassing his wife, from whom he is currently divorcing. After their separation, the 32-year-old began showing up at the woman’s current residence and knocking on the doors and windows. He watched the victim and threatened to kill her.
The officers brought the perpetrator to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec, where the man was charged with committing the offense. In addition, the prosecutor decided to impose preventive measures on the 32-year-old in the form of police supervision and a ban on contacting or approaching the victim.
Under the law, anyone who, by persistently harassing another person or a person close to them, creates in that person a justified sense of danger, humiliation or torment, or seriously violates their privacy, is liable to imprisonment for between 6 months and 8 years.
