The investment is worth more than PLN 2.1 million, half of which was provided by the Wrocław Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, while the other half was financed from the state budget. Electromobility is important because it is directly linked to reducing exhaust emissions, and the new vehicles received today will also enable police officers to carry out their statutory duties at an even higher level than before. The police cars were handed over in the parking lot at the headquarters of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
The Nissan Leaf electric police cars were purchased through a joint project whose partners are the Wrocław Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management and the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. First, an agreement on co-financing the project was signed, followed by the necessary procedures to implement the undertaking, which reached its conclusion today.
The new cars differ significantly in everyday operation from those previously used by officers, including in terms of exhaust emissions into the atmosphere. As we all know, this has a direct impact on air quality and the quality of life of residents. The vehicles are equipped with engines producing 150 HP and 320 Nm of maximum torque, resulting in acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 8 seconds. The cars are configured as marked vehicles and feature interesting solutions that make officers' work easier, as well as the latest safety systems. They will now be used by prevention officers in units such as: Legnica, Jelenia Góra, Strzelin, Bolesławiec, Kłodzko, Oława and Wrocław.
In our province, together with hybrid vehicles, police officers already use more than 75 environmentally friendly police cars of this type in their service. Every day, they carry out various activities to protect the safety of residents of the cities and counties of Lower Silesia.
