Organizers:

The Therapy Is NOT SHAMEFUL campaign aims to change Poles’ attitudes toward psychotherapy. Statistics concerning divorces, suicides, the number of people living alone and addictions in our country remain alarming.

They add:

Our mission is to change beliefs about therapy and seeking help from a psychologist or psychotherapist. Each of us has a team supporting our physical health: an internist, gynecologist, dentist and other specialists—depending on our needs. Unfortunately, a psychotherapist is still rarely part of this group. Why is it that when our tooth hurts, we have no problem going to the dentist, but when we feel unable to cope with stress, the loss of a loved one or a change of job, it is so difficult for us to decide to seek professional help?

And they add:

Despite the 21st century, psychotherapy is still not treated as seriously as it should be. We lack knowledge and basic information, so it is no wonder that therapy is still associated with something shameful, something not worth talking about—because the unknown causes us anxiety. We often hear: “I’m not crazy, so I’m not going to a psychologist or psychiatrist.”

Where to seek help?
