The incident occurred at around 9:00 p.m. in Bolesławiec’s Market Square. Two men were leading a third across the square toward the town hall walls. According to witnesses, the man was completely drunk.
– They laid him down by the Town Hall and tried to bring him around with water. They poured it over him and tried to lift him up. Nothing helped. He was dazed by alcohol. The guys wanted to take him to the base in their van, but before the van arrived, someone called an ambulance – one of the witnesses says.
The paramedics put the man in the vehicle and drove him away from the Market Square.
Witnesses say that the men spoke English and were soldiers from a US Army base, but this has not yet been confirmed.
