Jakuszyce is a district of Szklarska Poręba. In this highest-altitude part of Szklarska Poręba, routes begin and end which are used by competitors during the Bieg Piastów and biathlon events. In 2022, the Dolnośląskie Sports Centre (DSC) #NaPolanie was established here: one of the most modern facilities of its kind in Europe. It consists of a spacious stadium and biathlon shooting range, as well as the main building, which contains, among other things, all the facilities needed to organise competitions.

One of the first sporting events organised #NaPolanie was the Bieg Piastów Cycling Race
It is difficult to imagine Polana Jakuszycka without the Bieg Piastów. Its summer cycling edition was held in the first month of the DCS’s operation. The event, organised for years by the Bieg Piastów Association, attracted nearly one thousand participants to the starting line, accompanied by numerous spectators.

A handful of information for DCS visitors:

  • At the DCS, you can use the changing rooms before training and take a shower after exercising. Free toilets are also available.
  • After exercising, you can recover your strength in the swimming pool.
  • Remember that the bistro and restaurant offer delicious coffee and equally good meals.
  • If you arrived by car, a convenient underground car park awaits you, but you can also reach Polana Jakuszycka by train and bus.
  • With KD, you can reach #NaPolanie in Jakuszyce.

Remember that you can transport skis on Koleje Dolnośląskie S.A. trains free of charge, under the same rules as other luggage. They should be placed on the luggage rack or, if this is not possible, kept beside you.

“When creating the DCS, we integrated the railway stop directly with the sports facility so that travel by Koleje Dolnośląskie would be as comfortable as possible for all visitors,” says Cezary Przybylski, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

From 11 December 2022, trains at the Szklarska Poręba Jakuszyce stop will stop directly in front of the entrance to the Dolnośląskie Sports Centre Polana Jakuszycka.

The settlement was completely destroyed in the post-war years.

Orle: Stacja Turystyczna ORLE, located in the heart of the Jizera Mountains, in the former settlement of Carlsthal, once a mining settlement.
