12–14 May, the Polish Kickboxing Championships in the K-1 formula, held under the patronage of PZKb, took place in Kartuzy. A total of 319 competitors from 88 clubs across Poland entered the competition. Three competitors represented UKS Korio Gym Ruszów-Bolesławiec: Kamil Dychała (-71 kg senior), Patrycja Płonka (-60 kg senior) and Martyna Czuchraj (-48 kg older junior).

The club reports:

Patrycja confidently defeats her opponents, finishes her third bout before the time limit, and wins the final 3:0, becoming Polish Champion and earning a call-up to the K-1 national team. It is worth noting that a month earlier, P. Płonka won the Polish Championship in the low kick formula.

Kamil wins his first bout in the second round by TKO, wins the second 3:0 and reaches the final, but the injury to his right foot from the World Cup flares up again. Following the coach’s decision, he forfeits the final, finishing the championships with a silver medal and a call-up to the K-1 national team.

And adds:

In the quarterfinal, Martyna Czuchraj put up a very good fight, leading for most of the bout, but towards the end she ran out of energy and experience and narrowly lost on points. A month earlier, Martyna had won the runner-up title in the low kick formula.

In June, Kamil and Patrycja will travel to the World Cup, which will be held in Hungary. The club adds:

We would like to thank our sponsors: the Węgliniec Municipality and Chromy Stanisław Chromy. We thank Primary School No. 4 in Bolesławiec and the Primary School in Ruszów for providing us with places to train and win medals.

The coach of UKS Korio Gym Ruszów-Bolesławiec is Dariusz Dychała.
