The attack took place last weekend in Nowa Wieś, in the Nowogrodziec commune. As reported by the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec:
A 44-year-old man attacked a woman using a sharp tool. The reaction of bystanders and the woman’s conduct helped avert a tragedy, while the injuries sustained by the victim did not require prolonged hospitalization.
The perpetrator fled the scene. The officers: – Cooperation between police patrols from Nowogrodziec and Bolesławiec and the duty officer led to determining the direction in which the aggressor had gone.
When traveling toward the locality where the wanted man was believed to be, district officers from Bolesławiec noticed the 44-year-old in a taxi they were passing. They immediately stopped the vehicle and subdued the passenger.
The resident of Bolesławiec County was brought to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec, where he was charged. He will be held accountable for attempted murder, making threats and abuse.
On April 25, the man was remanded in custody for three months. He could face life imprisonment.
