At the end of the April session of the Bolesławiec City Council, the body’s chairman Józef Pokładek reminded councillors of their obligation to submit financial declarations. Mayor Piotr Roman immediately appealed to the councillors:

Ladies and gentlemen, do not send them [ich] by post.

He added:

The post office in Bolesławiec is going through very difficult times; we simply sympathise with them. Some people received our invitations, which we sent for the promotional gala, 15 days after they had been sent.

He also added that the municipal office was receiving more and more reports that there were problems delivering information concerning taxes.

– We have no other choice; we have to commission this to Poczta Polska – the mayor of Bolesławiec stressed. He summed up the whole situation as follows: – This part of the Polish state does not work. My blood is boiling.
