The incident occurred on March 28 in one of the municipalities in Zgorzelec County. – After 11 p.m., the duty officer at the Zgorzelec police headquarters received a report about a man who had been set on fire – reports Superintendent Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the Commander of the County Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec.
She adds:
Upon arriving at the scene, officers established that the 28-year-old woman and her former partner had come to visit an acquaintance. During the visit, an argument and scuffle broke out between them, during which the woman doused her former partner with gasoline and then set him on fire.
The man survived thanks to the witnesses’ swift reaction. He was taken to hospital.
The 28-year-old was detained. The spokeswoman said: – At the time of the incident, she was under the influence of alcohol. The policewoman emphasized that both the detained woman and her former cohabiting partner are known to officers from previous interventions; both have repeatedly come into conflict with the law.
The aggressor was charged by the prosecutor with attempted murder with particular cruelty. At the investigators’ request, the court ordered her pre-trial detention for three months.
The woman could face life imprisonment.
