Jerzy Małachowski sent a letter to some residents of Gromadka Municipality in which he presents himself and his idea for developing the municipality. He believes that there is the most work to be done in this municipality and wants to take on this challenge. In the candidate’s view, Gromadka does not have to be the county’s open-air museum.
Małachowski has been associated with Bolesławiec for nearly six years and lives in Łaziska. For three years, he worked at the County Office, where he was responsible for promotion. He is an aviation colonel. He has graduated from three institutions of higher education. For five years, he served as deputy president of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. In this role, he supported local governments in implementing environmentally friendly investments. He made financial decisions involving as much as PLN 2 billion annually. Together with the Management Board of the National Fund, he contributed to the construction of hundreds of wastewater treatment plants and water treatment stations, as well as thousands of kilometres of sewerage systems.
He would like to use his many years of experience in environmental protection to improve the situation in the municipality. He believes that the municipality’s location within the Legnica Special Economic Zone (the subzone in Krzyżowa) represents an extraordinary opportunity for development and for attracting entrepreneurs and capital. He wants to use the municipality’s natural assets to improve residents’ standard of living.
He is preparing carefully for the election. He is working on a programme provisionally titled “Accelerated Development for Gromadka”. The programme is based on voters’ proposals and suggestions. He believes that the municipality has been rather sluggish in applying for EU funding and intends to change this.
According to Małachowski, there is the most work to be done precisely in this municipality, making it his greatest challenge. He is aware that he will have to face other candidates in the election, which pleases him. The best programme may emerge from many programmes. The best one for Gromadka and the people who live there.
