Every run eventually comes to an end. On Tuesday, 28 March, in the 20th-round match of the western group of the Lower Silesian IV league, BKS lost 0–1 (0–0) to Granit Roztoka at Spółdzielcza.
Before the referee started the match, a minute of silence was held to commemorate the late Sławomir Widera.
Tuesday’s match was the kind that should be forgotten as quickly as possible. BKS did not resemble the team from its previous appearances, although its opponent was theoretically weaker. The players were very inaccurate, and goal-scoring opportunities were few and far between.
Only two incidents from the first half are worth noting. In one, following a shot by the visitors, the ball struck the crossbar of the BKS goal. In the other, Maciej Szewczyk found himself with a chance to score for BKS, but a visiting defender stopped him at the last moment.
BKS tried to attack in the second half, but little came of it. The moves ended in the penalty area. There was a lack of finishing, while the visitors, staying back in their own half, defended effectively and cleared the ball for throw-ins and corners. Unfortunately, BKS was unable to make use of those either.
The only noteworthy BKS effort in this part of the game was a shot by Jakub Czarnecki, but unfortunately the ball missed the target and went wide of the post. In the 82nd minute, Granit launched an effective counterattack and, through a goal by Przemysław Grosiak, took the lead and held on to it until the end.
BKS lost 0–1 to Granit, and the three points went to Roztoka.
