The Alex² test – one examination that can change your life
An allergy is a condition involving an inappropriate reaction of our immune system to various allergens. During its course, the concentration of specific IgE antibodies to sensitising substances increases. Unfortunately, most allergy tests available on the market produce false-positive results due to cross-reactions, making it difficult to identify the main cause of the problem.
The Alex² allergy test is a modern solution using nanotechnology that makes it possible to examine as many as 178 molecules and 117 allergen extracts simultaneously using a small amount of blood. Since innovative CCD technology has been used to block the possibility of obtaining false results, the Alex² test’s accuracy is very high – up to 99.9%. This means that the probability of accurately identifying the substances causing sensitisation is very high.
What exactly is Alex²?
The Alex² test accurately checks for the presence of specific IgE antibodies in the patient’s body. It can identify as many as 295 respiratory, contact and food allergens, including tree, grass and weed pollen, legumes, nuts and seeds, vegetables and fungi, fruit, milk and eggs, fish and seafood, meat, spices, moulds and yeasts, and dust mites. In addition, the test can also detect latex, ficus and lactoferrin – a protein found in both cow’s and human milk.
The Alex² examination allows a doctor to determine the best method of allergy treatment and reduce allergic symptoms. The test results are also helpful in cases of food allergies – they indicate whether heat treatment will help our bodies avoid an allergic reaction.
