Awards were presented in the following categories: social activities, sports, science and culture, as well as honorary awards. County institutions and students of county schools also received these special distinctions this year.
The award in the social activities category went to the Wspierajmy Zdrowie Foundation. In the science category, the awards went to: Barbara Jusypenko and Bogna Łasica – teachers at I Liceum Ogólnokształcące.
In the culture category – Anna Cecylia Dąbrowska from IV Publiczne Liceum Ogólnokształcące Zakonu Pijarów. The sports category: Katarzyna Pierzchalska from Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących i Zawodowych, Stanisław Strzelecki from I Liceum Ogólnokształcące, Michał Zazula from Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych and Karol Piecha from Powiatowy Zespół Szkół i Placówek Specjalnych.
The Honorary Award was presented to Powiatowy Zespół Szkół i Placówek Specjalnych in Bolesławiec and St. Luke’s Hospital

Powiatowy Zespół Szkół i Placówek Specjalnych in Bolesławiec
Powiatowy Zespół Szkół i Placówek Specjalnych in Bolesławiec is an institution with a history spanning more than 60 years. Its most important goal is to provide individualized care and support for students and pupils in their development. The latest technological solutions in education are used in the institution’s management and teaching process. Teachers are building the image of a 21st-century school by implementing creative methods that engage students with various disabilities, using computer applications, tablets and interactive whiteboards, educational robots and virtual reality. The tremendous effort invested in building a strong institutional brand has been recognized in nationwide competitions, such as “New Technologies Day in Education,” “VR (Virtual Reality) in Education” and “Active School,” whose winners included the school’s teachers. Thanks to these efforts, the school, and consequently the city of Bolesławiec, have established a lasting presence on the map of Poland’s innovative special-education institutions.
Wspierajmy Zdrowie Foundation
The main goal of the Wspierajmy Zdrowie Foundation is to carry out activities related to health protection and promotion. The foundation fulfills its mission, among other things, by purchasing medical equipment, providing financial support, organizing and initiating meetings and training sessions related to prevention and health. The foundation participates in events held in the city and Bolesławiec County, providing all participants with, among other things, medical consultations, dietary and physiotherapy consultations, stations for measuring basic vital signs, first-aid workshops and many other attractions for the youngest patients. Cooperation with kind-hearted people from the USA made it possible to support refugees from Ukraine and equip the pediatric ward. The Wspierajmy Zdrowie Foundation runs the project “Together We Can Do More – First Aid Without Secrets,” which offers students at Bolesławiec schools free lectures and workshops on first aid.
Anna Dąbrowska
Under the supervision of Dorota Straburzyńska, Anna Dąbrowska achieved high placements in national and international competitions in 2022: she was a laureate of the 6th National Competition held as part of the PRESTO Festival, took third place in the 8th National Young Cellists’ Meetings “wiolonCZELKA,” received a distinction in the 1st National Music Competition for first- and second-level music-school students – the Young Virtuoso Festival in Bydgoszcz, and also received a special distinction at the Amadeus International Music Awards in Salzburg.
Barbara Jusypenko and Bogna Łasica
Barbara Jusypenko and Bogna Łasica are foreign-language teachers at I Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Władysława Broniewskiego in Bolesławiec. Barbara teaches Italian and French, while Bogna teaches English and Spanish. Together, they coordinate international cooperation projects under the Erasmus+ program, involving students of I Liceum and their peers from many European countries, as well as teaching staff. In 2022, they implemented the project “Past Roads and Future Ways,” under which students and teachers from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Serbia and Greece stayed in Bolesławiec, learning about the local cultural heritage and taking part with students of I Liceum in integration and cultural workshops, urban games and a debate on preserving heritage for future generations.
Katarzyna Pierzchalska
In 2022, Katarzyna Pierzchalska achieved high placements in national and provincial high-jump competitions. At the Polish LZS Championships, she won a bronze medal at the Polish Championships with a result of 159 cm. At the Polish U18 Championships, she took fourth place with a result of 166 cm, and at the Lower Silesian Indoor Championships she took first place in the U18 girls’ category with a result of 161 cm. The Lower Silesian Championships for Juniors and U18 athletes brought her first place. She scored five points in the Youth Sports System. She is part of the Junior Women’s National Team reserve training program and holds a second-class sports classification.
Stanisław Strzelecki
In 2022, Stanisław Strzelecki achieved very good results in provincial and national running competitions. He won the Final of the National Competition held as part of the “Athletics for Everyone” program, the Lower Silesian Indoor Championships and the Lower Silesian U16 Championships in the 300 m. At the Interprovincial U16 Championships, he took third place in the 300 m. He scored two points in the Youth Sports System. He is part of the Provincial U16 Team training program and holds a second-class sports classification.
Michał Zazula
In 2022, Michał Zazula took top places in national long-jump competitions. At the Polish Indoor Combined Events Championships, he became Polish runner-up, achieving a distance of 7.07 m, and at the Polish Junior Championships he took fourth place with a result of 6.94 m. He scored nine points in the Youth Sports System. He is part of the Junior National Team training program and holds a second-class sports classification.
Karol Piecha
Karol Piecha is an athlete with Klub Olimpijczyk Bolesławiec who achieved strong results in national and international competitions in various sports in 2022. He won a bronze medal in the 50 m freestyle at the 12th National Special Olympics Summer Games, a bronze medal in the 25 m freestyle at the 11th European Youth Games for Athletes with Disabilities, as well as silver medals in the 50 m freestyle and the 4 x 25 m relay at the 11th Lower Silesian Special Olympics Swimming Meet. In addition, Karol Piecha won a bronze medal at the National Special Olympics Basketball Tournament, a gold medal at the 16th Lower Silesian Special Olympics Basketball Tournament and a silver medal in the singles event at the 14th Lower Silesian Special Olympics Badminton Tournament.
