On Monday at 6:44 a.m., the duty officer of the SK KP PSP in Złotoryja was notified of a road accident in Modlikowice.

One fire service unit from JRG ZŁOTORYJA and OSP Zagrodno was dispatched to the scene.
After the first unit arrived at the scene, it confirmed to the PSK duty officer that the driver of a VW Golf had driven into a pond and that the driver had got out of the vehicle under his own power.

The website of the District Police Headquarters in Złotoryja, meanwhile, reports:

The incident occurred today before 7 in the morning. The duty officer at the District Police Headquarters in Złotoryja received information that, in Modlikowice, in the Zagrodno municipality, a Volkswagen passenger car had driven into a pond.

A police traffic patrol and fire service units were dispatched to the scene. The officers' findings indicate that the driver was a 30-year-old resident of Legnica County. While driving through the village, he failed to adjust his speed to the road conditions, left the roadway onto the verge, and then drove into the pond. He was lucky, as he managed to get out of the vehicle by himself and did not suffer serious bodily injuries. A breathalyser test showed that he had approximately 1 per mille of alcohol in his system.

The man lost his driving licence. Further proceedings will be conducted in the case.

Driving a vehicle while intoxicated is a crime punishable by a fine, restriction of liberty or imprisonment for up to 2 years.
