We have reported repeatedly in these pages about the bollards on Kościuszki Street. Drivers hit them so often—and consequently broke them—that it was decided to install them... in the middle of the lane used by pedestrians.
There is, however, good news. As Leszek Loch, head of the Lower Silesian Roads and Railway Service, reports, a proper sidewalk will be built here. The designer is at the stage of submitting the documents. And if everything goes according to plan, construction work will begin this autumn.
Let us recall. At the end of January, we reported that Piotr Roman informed councillors at a session that, thanks to the efforts of the Municipality of Bolesławiec and the fact that he had “waged war” with the provincial authorities, a safe sidewalk would be built along Kościuszki Street, a provincial road.
That is not all. The mayor announced that the City would talk to the Road Transport Inspectorate about installing speed cameras along this road.
