As reported by UMWD:

The agreement we have proposed stipulates that design work for the individual sections of the Lower Silesian Cycle Route Network will be financed equally by the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and the municipalities. So far, talks have concerned four routes included in the Lower Silesian Cycle Route Network: the Bóbr Valley Route, the Barycza Valley Route, the Lusatian Neisse Valley Route and the Copper Route.

The first agreement was signed by the municipality of Bogatynia and concerned co-financing the design of the Lusatian Neisse Valley Route, which is 64 km long and will run through Porajów, Bogatynia, Zgorzelec, Pieńsk and Prędocice. Sixteen kilometres of the route run through Bogatynia itself, and the agreement was signed specifically for this section.

At a meeting in Przemków, the municipality of Wińsko declared financial support by signing an agreement on creating a section of the Copper Route, which is 107 km long and will run through Przemków, Chocianów, Lubin, Ścinawa, Wąsosz and Wodniki. The municipality of Wińsko is to co-finance a 19-km section of the Copper Route.

– These agreements are an extremely important step towards creating the Lower Silesian Cycle Route Network, the largest cycling investment in the region. We hope to complete the entire project in cooperation with the municipalities over the coming years, so I would like to thank everyone who has already decided to participate in creating the individual routes – says Tymoteusz Myrda, Member of the Board of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. – Without cooperation between local governments, we will not be able to complete the entire investment. Therefore, I thank Jolanta Krysowata-Zielnica, head of the municipality of Wińsko, and Wojciech Dobrołowicz, mayor of Bogatynia, for this important declaration for local residents.

The Lower Silesian Cycle Route Network is an extensive system of cycling routes that will not only allow residents of the region to enjoy active leisure and practise sport safely. It will also improve the region’s transport accessibility, integrate existing cycle paths and connect them with the Lower Silesian railway network. The project is based on a network of main cycling routes covering the entire region and also connecting with cycling routes in the Czech Republic and Germany. The total length of the network’s main routes will exceed 2,000 km.
