The KGHM Family 12-kilometre race—alongside the children's Scouts' Expedition taking place on the same day—is an ideal way for entire families to spend Saturday cross-country skiing! It is one of the events of the 47th Piast Race – Cross-Country Skiing Festival. Open to everyone, with a family classification in which you can win even if you are not the fastest.

The Brubeck Night 12 always takes place in a snowstorm and freezing temperatures, amid breathtaking scenery, in the glow of headlamps and beneath the famous Izera “dark sky”, which is so extraordinary that it attracts astronomers. When you reach the finish line, the hot meal tastes delicious. This is the magical Night 12—a must for many participants in the Piast Race!

The first 30 km race will take place on March 3, 2023. It is the only freestyle race in the programme of the 47th Piast Race – Cross-Country Skiing Festival. Its results count towards the Worldloppet World Long-Distance Cross-Country Skiing League classification. Around 400–500 competitors from different parts of the world take part each year. This level of participation guarantees excellent racing conditions—there are no crowds, and everyone can ski at their own pace. A classic track is also available.

On March 4, 2023, one of the world's largest cross-country ski races in terms of participation will take place, belonging to the Worldloppet World Long-Distance Cross-Country Skiing League. The route runs through the beautiful Izera Mountains. The atmosphere among the competitors is wonderful, full of joy and friendly competition. The results count towards the Worldloppet Ski Federation and the Czech Ski Tour series.

The main weekend of the 47th Piast Race – Cross-Country Skiing Festival

  • March 3 (Friday): 6 km classic and 30 km freestyle races.
  • March 4 (Saturday): 50 km classic race.
  • March 5 (Sunday): 25 km classic race.
  • The 25, 30 and 50 km races are part of the Worldloppet World Long-Distance Cross-Country Skiing League.
  • The 6, 25, 30 and 50 km races are part of the Czech Ski Tour series.

The race-pack collection office for the 47th Piast Race – Cross-Country Skiing Festival is located exclusively at the Lower Silesian Sports Centre (DSC) Polana Jakuszycka. DCS Polana Jakuszycka is in Jakuszyce, right next to the main road and railway tracks. It is the new, largest building in Jakuszyce. The opening hours of the race-number collection office are shown in the graphic below.
