What does a courier do in their daily work?
A courier’s shift starts early in the morning, when they have to collect parcels from the sorting centre. Each morning, they receive a specific number of shipments that they are to deliver that day to recipients’ homes or Paczkomat® parcel lockers. After leaving the warehouse, they head to the nearest addresses and deliver parcels throughout the day.
Because InPost allows shipments to be sent through Paczkomat® parcel lockers, couriers also service the machines, from which they collect parcels sent by customers. After the working day ends, the courier must still return to the sorting centre and account for parcels that could not be delivered that day, for example because the recipient was not at home.
InPost Courier – How Do You Send a Parcel?
All the details about sending parcels with InPost can be found on the website https://inpost.pl/wysylam. The website can also be used to register a parcel for shipment. Simply open the form, select the parcel size and enter the recipient’s details and your own. Finally, the sender must pay for the order and print the shipping label.
It is very important to attach the document to the parcel correctly. It is worth using a courier document pouch or even covering the entire label with transparent tape. This protects the shipping code from damage during transport. If someone does not have a printer or wants to send the parcel as quickly as possible, they should install the InPost Mobile app on their smartphone.
This software is a modern way to send a parcel without printing a label. In the app, after clicking the Send option, complete the shipping form and then pay for the order—you do not need a label here. After payment, two codes appear on the smartphone screen. One consists of nine digits, while the other is a QR code. Once they have been generated, all that remains is to go to the selected Paczkomat® parcel locker or PaczkoPunkt and send the parcel.
The parcel can be placed in a locker after scanning the QR code on the device panel or entering the nine-digit code on the machine’s screen. Do not forget to close the door properly. And that’s it!
What are the advantages of using InPost Mobile?
Thanks to the app, it is not the sender but the courier who is responsible for attaching the shipping label to the parcel. In addition, the software enables continuous monitoring of the status of sent and received shipments. If someone wants to take a parcel out of a locker, they do not have to touch the Paczkomat® parcel locker at all. They simply need to tap the remote door-opening option on their smartphone, and the locker will open immediately.
Furthermore, the app makes it possible to redirect shipments and send returns to many online shops. It is a modern and intuitive solution that everyone should have on their phone.
