Unfortunately, excess weight is not everything, and in most cases a sentence like this marks the beginning of the story of many women who struggle every day with entirely different problems. Stress, work, children, family... how can you cope with it all and put everything in order? How can you get everything done without going crazy? And, amid this entire avalanche of responsibilities, find time for yourself? The next textbook stage is denying your needs or reducing them to a minimum. The first things that come to mind are our favorite excuses, which at this point we use against ourselves—excuses previously tested on those closest to us, for example:

  • why do I need this,
  • I don’t have time for myself,
  • I have laundry and ironing to catch up on,
  • after a whole day at work, looking after the children and running the household—I simply HAVE NO time.

Yeah, right...

I do NOT have time for the most important person—for myself. A woman is a wife, mother, cleaner, cook, nanny, doctor, shopping and conflict-resolution specialist, as well as a personal adviser and family psychologist, designer, and at night, when everyone is asleep, the designer of the entire family’s future. So many roles to fulfill, and only one life. The worst thing we can do is disregard our dreams, needs and the signals sent by our body and mind. It is worth saying NO someday—to everyone around us: our boss, friends, family and, most importantly, ourselves. No, I will not do this now—because I want to take care of myself, my life and my mental health, which is just as important as physical health! When making many unsuccessful attempts to change the way friends, coworkers and family view you, you often make the same mistake! You start with everyone and everything around you—but every change in your life should begin with YOU.

The best way to make everything you intend to do succeed this time is to take a sheet of paper and carefully write down, in bullet points, what you want to achieve—for example, over the course of a year. It is a kind of contract with yourself. You like it when people follow your instructions and everyone keeps the promises they have made to you—yes, that is fair. So why are you the only person from whom you do not demand the same treatment? Treat yourself like a partner, a coworker to whom you entrust a task and from whom you expect results. Yes! Put what you want into words in writing, in the form of an agreement or contract, and unconditionally demand that the
conditions be fulfilled by your “opponent,” for example:

I want to lose 20 kg!

It is possible to achieve, and probably not even that difficult—for everyone... except me. After all, my friends constantly show their spectacular transformations on Facebook or Instagram. So why, then, were their profile pictures so wonderful, and THEY so fit? When did they struggle with that 50 kg of excess weight? Interesting, isn’t it? This also applies to me. As if in a distorting mirror, you find a piece of yourself in every false story written by other people’s imaginary, plastic dreams. You realize that you do the same thing, hiding the real you behind Photoshop or another app that fulfills empty dreams in the virtual world and provokes envy among your high-school friends. I vividly imagine myself at a class reunion ball 30 years after prom, humming the hit song: “You’re more beautiful today, just look at these pictures.”

Unfortunately, these are only futile dreams spun over another serving of ice cream, chips and handfuls of dietary supplements washed down with a light ZERO-sugar drink, while wearing an embarrassingly tight neoprene suit. At night, when everyone in the household has fallen asleep, you sneak on tiptoe to the refrigerator like Lara Croft for another serving of vanilla ice cream, overcoming the obstacles of your many weeks of sacrifice.

Which of you has not experienced this?

One day, you meet someone on your path who awakens hope in you in a way you have never experienced before, creates a desire for change and sparks an impulse that changes your life. Once, while having coffee with a friend at Poznań’s Stary Browar, I met an extraordinary woman who turned my life upside down—or so it seemed to me at the time. Today I know that she set it upright; it had been upside down for a long time. It was a lunch break between boring training panels. It doesn’t matter what happened that morning, but today I know that one cup of coffee can change someone’s life. Curiosity led us to another floor of the shopping center, and that is how I crossed the threshold of Klinika La Perla for the first time.

Now I know that I needed it and was ready to find myself at the right time and place with the right person—300 km from home. That is how I met the owner of the Klinik La Perla chain, Kalina Ben Sira. I learned many valuable things about myself, and I quickly sang out even my most shameful, long-hidden insecurities, afraid that I might leave something out. It was not easy, but it was very cleansing. I knew that at 165 cm tall, weighing 98 kg and wearing sizes 48–52, I had a long road ahead of me, carrying unwanted baggage such as hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, the beginnings of diabetes and an inoperable vision defect. It was precisely because of my vision defect that I could not give birth to my children naturally, and every pregnancy carried the risk of losing my sight completely. When I wanted to lose weight after my first pregnancy, I became pregnant with my second.

After that, things only got worse

Diets stopped working, supplements did nothing either, and I had no place at the gym because my worsening vision defect disqualified me from the exercises that could have given me at least some hope of losing a few kilograms. I gave up and lived with excuses as old as time for the next 12 years, waiting—I don’t even know for what.

Returning to my visit to La Perla...

I was assessed by a team of specialists consisting of cosmetologists and an aesthetic medicine doctor and referred to Klinika La Perla in Bolesławiec—the facility closest to my place of residence. I was asked to provide specific test results and describe my lifestyle and eating habits. At last, I made the first decision, which proved to be the beginning of a great fight for myself and my happiness. I placed myself in the hands of specialists in aesthetic medicine, Hi-Tech treatments and nutrition. I met Kalina again—this time in Lower Silesia—in Bolesławiec, where Klinika La Perla has one of its 10 facilities. There, for the first time, I exercised and reduced body fat... while lying down!

It turns out that unwanted kilograms can be lost with the help of the latest Hi-Tech technology. The cosmetologists took wonderful care of my body—while I lay down and relaxed, my muscles worked, cellulite disappeared and my skin became firmer. I used several packages involving different technologies. First, my body underwent the Jet Vibe treatment, which strengthened my abdomen and buttocks while also lifting the skin. Then Wonder Shape worked on my cellulite, and the warming effect of the treatment gave me pleasant relief. Finally, Thermologie—so that my whole body could undergo drainage. It was my favorite treatment; I left the Clinic with a feeling of light legs, although I had been prone to swelling for as long as I could remember.

Every time I visited Klinika La Perla, I left later as a completely different person—rested, confident and with a specific life plan and, of course, treatment plan. Never before had any specialist told me that before planned weight loss, the body should be firmed to avoid sagging skin. This was very important to me, considering my Rubensian curves. I unnecessarily worked myself up, wondering whether it would work, whether I would manage to move the scales, whether I could do it, whether I would be left with unnecessary folds of skin... a whirlwind of thoughts and fear that I might be throwing money down the proverbial drain. After three months, I managed to lose 8 kg without unnecessary sacrifices. After two years, I had lost a total of 25 kg and changed my size to 38–40. It was an incredibly uplifting feeling and a success. Because of the excessively resistant skin on my abdomen, which was difficult to get rid of after two C-sections, I additionally decided to undergo abdominoplasty. Of course, several more years have passed since then. To this day, it happens that friends still do not recognize me in the street, but I do not really take offense. A few months ago, my family and I moved to Lubin. My husband changed jobs, and the children changed schools.
The best thing of all is that after moving, I have Klinika La Perla within easy reach—in the Cuprum Arena Shopping Center in Lubin. Hi-Tech treatments have become a permanent part of my life, because thanks to them I can maintain the results of my hard work on my body and, interestingly, on my mental health as well. Today I can confidently say that I am a different woman, keeping my life under control and drawing boundless joy from it. I love my family and surround myself with acquaintances and friends for whom I always try to find time. I am simply happy with my
self.

I LOVE MYSELF!!!
