Primary School No. 4 named after Jan Matejko, together with the Museum of Ceramics and the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre, and with organizational support from students of the 1st and 2nd General Secondary Schools, is carrying out an educational project aimed at engaging students with the past and shaping historical imagination and patriotic attitudes.
On January 26, 2023, the project was ceremonially concluded in the presence of city authorities and invited guests. During the event, the Forum cinema hosted a special concert of uprising songs. The ceremony was accompanied by standard-bearer contingents from Bolesławiec primary schools.
Headteacher Maria Subik thanked everyone involved in organizing the project so that the commemorations of the 160th anniversary of the January Uprising “might become worthy of the memory of the heroes whom they reminded the nation of”.
Participants in the urban game “The January Uprising 1863–2023” received a commemorative publication and a certificate of participation. A brief historical outline of the January Uprising and its influence on the development of modern Polish society was presented by Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman.
