A week and a half ago, we first wrote about the crumbling Bolko building near the Shell station in Bolesławiec in an article: Part of the building’s façade fell onto the pavement. The situation is getting worse. Today, readers sent us further reports concerning the property.

One of the readers wrote:

Windows and façade elements are falling from the Bolko building on Asnyka Street onto the pavement (...) Maybe you could look into it?

The building is indeed in a deplorable condition. It has been neglected for years, and now its façade is falling off on several sides. This happens so frequently that the area around a large part of the property has been fenced off. While photographing the building, we saw a large banner reading “we are changing for you,” along with a visualization of the renovated Bolko. The banner looks old, at least a year old.

Some tenants said today that yesterday a few thin boards were screwed into place to prevent the façade from falling off.

We asked Patrycja Głębocka, president of P&B, the company responsible for the property, to comment on the building’s condition. Unfortunately, the president did not wish for her statement to be quoted in the article.

We will ask the Powiatowy Inspektorat Nadzoru Budowlanego for its opinion on the building.

And do you have an opinion about this building? Why is it in such poor condition rather than good condition?
