The Local Government Appeals Board (SKO) in Jelenia Góra issued its decision on 30 November 2022. The judges found that the position of the Bolesławiec Starost was correct and should remain in force.

Let us explain. At the starost’s request, noise generated by the bells at the Parish of Christ the King church on Jana Pawła II Street in Bolesławiec was measured in June this year. It turned out that the noise was considerable. At one location, near residential buildings, it reached as much as 65.9 dB, while the law permits 55 dB.

The starost ordered the installation to be adjusted so that the ringing bells would not exceed the limit. The parish, represented by one of Bolesławiec’s attorneys, attempted to appeal the decision by challenging it before the SKO.

After conducting a thorough proceeding, the court ruled that the starost’s decision was correct.
